AI in Education: Lessons from early adopters

AUT Business School and The AI Forum NZ are pleased to host an enlightening panel discussion as we delve into the future of higher education with Artificial Intelligence. This event is a must-attend for educators who are pioneering the integration of AI tools into teaching and learning.

Facilitator: Dr Geri Harris (AUT)

Speakers: Dr James Oldfield (Unitec), Dr Shahper Richter (University of Auckland), Chao Jiang (AUT postdrad student), Cordelia Stewart (AUT)

Our panel will share their experiences from the front lines of early adoption, providing valuable insights into the challenges and triumphs of this exciting journey. We’ll explore how to empower fellow educators to take proactive steps in this new era of teaching, and discuss whether the looming fear of privacy has indeed become a reality.

We’ll also tackle the lessons we’ve learned so far - from navigating copyright issues, ensuring equitable access, to rethinking assessment methods for learners in an AI-driven educational landscape.

Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of the conversation shaping the future of education. Together, let’s discover what’s next for AI in teaching and learning!

Chao JIANG picture v2

Chao Jiang

Postgraduate student | AUT

Chao is in the first trimester of her Master's degree in supply chain management. Before coming to AUT, Chao worked in the International transportation and freight forwarding industry for more than 10 years.
During her studies, she feels she has significantly enhanced her research skills and academic learning abilities. Chao has made considerable advances in critical thinking and independent reasoning, which have furthered her professional development.
AI has significantly boosted Chao's efficiency by automating many repetitive manual tasks, allowing her to focus her limited energy on academic research and the exploration of innovative ideas. This has greatly enhanced Chao's learning efficiency, making her feel "like a fish in water".
